Frequently
Asked Question
Do you host weddings year-round?
Norwood Vineyard hosts wedding April through November each year. The Vineyard closes December to March each year for maintenance.
What are your hours?
All weddings must take place between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. This timeframe includes your setup and breakdown unless otherwise arranged.
How many guests can we invite?
Norwood Vineyard is intentionally intimate. Our capacity is designed for the couple + up to 75 guests, plus limited flexibility to accommodate essential vendors such as your caterer, photographer, decorator, and others with prior approval from management.
Is the vineyard family-friendly? Are children allowed at events?
Absolutely. Norwood’s Vineyard was created for families to gather across generations, to celebrate, connect, and make memories together. We love seeing children experience the wonder of the vineyard alongside their loved ones.
That said, our property is a working vineyard and a curated landscape, so we ask that families take extra care to ensure the safety of little ones and the preservation of the grounds. Children must remain under close supervision at all times and are not permitted to run through the vines, play in the gardens or walkways, or rough play in Charlie’s Pavilion in any way that can damage the tent or the hardwood floors.
We encourage hosts to thoughtfully include children in the flow and design of their event, from designated activities and play zones, to seating arrangements, so that they can enjoy the experience safely and comfortably. These mindful observances allow every guest to fully enjoy the beauty of the vineyard today, while helping us preserve it for generations to come.
What restroom accommodations are available for guests?
As an outdoor venue, Norwood’s Vineyard provides a luxury mobile restroom suite for all weddings and events. The suite is climate-controlled, features flushable toilets, running water, and spacious, well-appointed interiors with separate sections for men and women (two stalls each). It offers the comfort and convenience of an indoor restroom while allowing guests to enjoy the beauty of the vineyard setting.
Is there a bridal or groom suite for getting ready?
While Norwood’s Vineyard does not currently have an indoor bridal or groom suite, we do create a beautiful outdoor bridal holding tent on the day of your wedding. This private space serves as a serene, shaded area for the bride and bridal party to gather before the ceremony: a space to breathe, freshen up, and take in the scenery before walking down the aisle. A similar tent can also be prepared for the groom and his party if desired. Most couples choose to get ready off-site at a nearby hotel or Airbnb, all located within five minutes of the vineyard, before arriving for the ceremony. Looking ahead, we’re excited to share that construction is planned for a dedicated Bridal House at Norwood’s Vineyard an elegant on-site space designed specifically for wedding parties to get ready and relax. The Bridal House is anticipated to open in late fall 2026/early spring 2027.
Is there an indoor or climate-controlled space available?
While Norwood’s Vineyard does not feature a fully enclosed indoor venue, Charlie’s Pavilion offers a stunning and versatile alternative. This 1,800-square-foot weatherproof tented pavilion features hardwood floors, full electrical access, and clear side panels that create an elegant, light-filled environment while helping to regulate temperature throughout the seasons. During cooler months, propane heaters keep the space warm and comfortable, while portable air-conditioning units can be added during warmer months to maintain a pleasant atmosphere. The clear panels also provide protection from rain inclement weather, allowing guests to enjoy the natural beauty of the vineyard without concern.
Can we bring our own food or caterer?
Yes. Catering is welcome with a licensed caterer, or guests may bring their own prepared food. We have a list of preferred caterers who have experience working at our venue, however guests are also welcome to work with their own caterer upon seeking approval from management.
Is there a kitchen or catering space on-site?
Norwood’s Vineyard features a charming outdoor catering gazebo, designed to support caterers with ample counter space for setup and food preparation. The gazebo includes a small refrigerator, a two-burner hot plate, and a portable electric sink, making it ideal for plating, staging, and last-minute prep before service. As an outdoor venue, the gazebo is not a full commercial kitchen. There is no oven, stove, or full running water. We recommend that all hot dishes arrive fully prepared and warmed, with chafing dishes and burners provided by your caterer to maintain temperature during service. This space offers a picturesque and practical backdrop for culinary teams to work comfortably while staying connected to the natural rhythm of the vineyard.
Can we serve alcohol?
Yes. Beer, wine, and champagne may be self-served to guests 21+ years and older. If you wish to serve hard liquor or mixed cocktails, a licensed and insured bartender is required. We can provide a list of amazing bartenders who are familiar with our venue and have served our guests for prior events.
Do you make or sell wine at the vineyard? Can we purchase wine for our wedding from you?
While Norwood’s Vineyard grows muscadine grapes, we are not a winery and do not currently produce or sell our own wine or alcohol on-site. However, we’re proud to collaborate with several exceptional local winemakers whose handcrafted wines pair beautifully with our events. If you’d like to feature local wines at your celebration, simply let us know and we’ll be happy to share our trusted recommendations and connect you with our favorite producers.
Are pets allowed at the vineyard?
As much as we adore our furry friends, pets are not permitted at Norwood’s Vineyard. Our grounds are carefully maintained to preserve the beauty and integrity of the landscape, and for that reason, we’re unable to accommodate animals on-site, even for ceremonies. We know how much pets mean to families, and we encourage couples to honor them in creative ways: from including a photo in your décor to naming a signature drink in their honor.
Where do guests park?
Free onsite parking is available in our primary lot for up to 30 vehicles. A parking attendant is onsite to greet guests and guide them as they arrive. Offsite overflow parking can be made accessible upon request, however a shuttle will be required to transport guests to/from overflow parking for an additional fee.
What is your music policy?
Norwood Vineyard honors local noise ordinances. Guests are welcome to use our Bluetooth sound system to stream music for their event from a phone or laptop at a reasonable and moderate volume. Live music, DJs, live bands, and external speakers are permitted (with approval), however we do not allow subwoofers or mega bass systems in order to be respectful of neighbors. All music must conclude by 9 pm.
What happens if it rains?
Prior to your event, we work with our guests to develop a rain plan which may include moving all festivities to Charlie’s Pavilion, using a combination of tents or for some events securing a 3rd party rented tent (for an additional fee) for extended use in Sarah’s Orchard.
Do you provide an onsite venue coordinator”?
Yes. Every event includes an on-site venue hosts who serves as the primary contact for you and your vendors on the day of your event. This person manages venue logistics and timing to ensure everything runs smoothly. Please note that this role is distinct from an event planner or decorator. Guests may still wish to hire a planner for design, timelines, or vendor management outside of the venue’s scope.
Is décor included?
Norwood Vineyard is beautifully styled and ready to use as-is, but additional décor is not included in the venue rental (please note some items displayed in our past event gallery include items provided by a decorator or stylist). Guests are welcome to bring in their own décor, such as florals, arches, balloons, signage or drapery. We highly recommend our in-house stylist, Always June, whose designs complement the property perfectly. Outside vendors are also welcome with prior approval.
Is setup and cleanup included?
Our team handles the setup of tables and chairs prior to the start of your reservation. We do not handle decoration setup or removal. Your booked hours should include time for setup and breakdown by you or your vendors (including decorators). At the end of the event, all personal items — including food, alcohol, and 3rd party décor items (included any rental items)— must be removed from the property. Our team handles post-event cleaning, which is included in most event packages, so you can simply gather your belongings and enjoy the moment.
Do you require event insurance?
Yes. We require event insurance for the protection of both you and the property. We recommend EventHelper.com, which provides affordable coverage (typically $75–$85 for a one-day policy).
How far in advance should we book?
We recommend reserving your wedding date as early as possible to ensure availability.
During peak season (April–November), especially for weekend dates, we suggest booking 6 to 12 months in advance.
We accept bookings up to 12 months in advance and do not book weddings scheduled less than 30 days out.
How do we reserve our date?
A signed agreement and a 50% non-refundable deposit are required to secure your wedding date. The remaining balance is due two weeks prior to your event. Once your deposit and agreement are received, your date is officially confirmed on our calendar.
What is your cancellation policy?
Please note that a full refunds of the deposit paid is not permitted. However, if you cancel your event more than 180 days in advance, we will refund 50% of the deposit paid. Cancellations made with 180 days or less notice of the event date will result in full forfeiture of the full deposit. We understand that unexpected circumstances may arise, thus we offer a one time date change with a 60 day notice.
Are there any rules or restrictions we should know about?
Every wedding at Norwood’s Vineyard is unique, and we do our best to be flexible while maintaining the safety, beauty, and integrity of the property. To ensure an enjoyable experience for all, we ask guests and vendors to observe the following guidelines:
No smoking or vaping is permitted anywhere on the grounds, including cigars. While cigar rolling may be included as a keepsake or display element, the act of smoking is not allowed.
Open flames and grilling are not typically permitted due to fire safety. If your caterer requires on-site grilling for a specific menu, please discuss this with our team in advance.
Confetti, fireworks, and other non-biodegradable décor are not allowed, as they can harm the vines, gardens, and wildlife.
We ask that all guests help us preserve the landscape by avoiding décor or activities that may damage plantings, pathways, or vineyard structures.
The family home located on the property is private and not accessible for events.
These observances help us keep the vineyard pristine and welcoming for every celebration today and for generations to come.
