Our Story

WHAT WE BELIEVE

we believe in making lasting memories while there’s still time. we believe gathering with loved ones brings deep and real joy. we believe the more you live and are present with people, the more wealthy you will be. we believe that spaces can unite, strengthen, and deepen bonds with those we love and with our communities.

Meet the Norwoods

Some families inherit land. Ours never left it.

Norwood Vineyard is a homestead. A living, breathing piece of Georgia that has belonged to our family for 75 years. Where family still live, where cousins still gather, and where the same red clay soil our grandparents Wilbert and Sarah first turned by hand is still right here beneath our feet. This was never a venue waiting to happen. It was simply home.

Then three siblings- Alicia, Devin and Erika- looked at five acres of muscadine vines, peach trees, pear trees and seventy-five years of family history and thought…this is too beautiful not to share.

So here we are.

Alicia, the oldest, is the backbone of everything operational. Partnerships, agri-educational programs, systems that actually work. If it requires precision and follow-through, she owns it. She also happens to be a sought-after sound therapist whose sound baths are quietly legendary. She brings that same intentionality to every single detail at the Vineyard.

Erika, the middle child and the one who started all of this, is the visionary behind Norwood Vineyard and the venue director. The dreamer who wouldn't let the dream go. In a not-so-past life she was CEO of an investment firm, making investments in startups and entrepreneurs around the world. Now she tends to the vineyard, advises other families across the south on giving inherited land a second life, and is the person most likely to greet you on day one with a big smile and an even bigger vision for your event.

Devin, the youngest and the one his sisters will call first when something needs fixing, oversees every inch of these grounds. The vineyard looks the way it does because of him. He's on the tractor, in the field, weed-eating something, fixing a mower, or doing the quiet tinkering that makes everything beautiful possible. He's also a former Air Force linguist fluent in Korean, which is either the most surprising thing about him or the second most surprising, depending on how well you know him.

Then there's Mama D - Debra. Not an owner, just the woman responsible for making everything gorgeous. If a photo from in our gallery has ever made you stop mid-scroll, she did that. Our in-house decorator and designer, she arrives before the guests and stays until it's perfect. Which, with her, it always is (yep, she’s a Virgo).

And behind all of us is family. The aunts, the uncles, the cousins who show up when it matters and occasionally when there's hard work to do or important decisions to make. The neighbors who wave from the porch. The family members who never asked for credit and deserve all of it. This land is held by many hands. Always has been.

What our grandparents Wilbert and Sarah planted here wasn't just vines. It was a quiet, unshakeable belief that family should stick together - and that the right things only get better with time.

We're just tending it forward.

Family

We are a family steeped in love and tradition. It's at the core of who we are. When we opened the vineyard to others, we understood it could help other families carry on their traditions in a space and setting with enough legacy of it’s own to add a very meaningful new depth to their celebration.

Family is the well that we draw from every day. Family is dynamic and complex. Warm and nurturing. Always unique.  Personally and professionally, family is the heartbeat of everything we do.
